We truly believe that parents working together can fight for positive change for our children! We saw it happen in 2013 when we got 11 more School Nurses and 2 more Supervisors. We would like to think our group contributed to that positive change through our letters/emails to County Commissioners and others. We came out in force to the May proposed budget public hearing wearing red and showing our signs. We involved the media to inform others of this important cause. Our elected officials work for us and they need to hear our concerns. Many of them are currently running for re-election so now is the time to get involved and ask them how they feel about increasing school nurse funding! Never think that your voice cannot make a difference. We can protect our children's health and safety if we let voices be heard! Please go to the tab on this website called "How do I help?" and get the contact information for our elected officials and email them today! Please do not assume others will do this. The more people they hear from, the better. Tell our officials that accidents and injuries can happen anytime. There are more chronic medical issues than ever in our schools. Healthy children learn better. You cannot put a price on the life of a child! Please share our information with others. "Ladies in Red" advocating for more school nurses. We wear red to draw attention to our cause. Red means urgent or emergency and we feel getting more school nurse funding is an urgent issue. We hope for more school nurse funding BEFORE there is a tragedy here in CMS. Please help us. Together we really can make a difference.
